Broccoli Cream Soup

A creamy and flavorful broccoli soup perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

1 pkg (10 oz) frozen chopped broccoli
1/2 cup frozen chopped onion
1 can condensed chicken broth
2 TBS butter or margarine
2 TBS flour
2 cups half & half (light cream)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp basil finely ground
1/2 tsp white pepper
Sliced almonds (optional)

Instructions

Combine broccoli, onions and broth. Heat to boiling, simmer 5 minutes. Turn into blender jar and blend smooth. Melt butter and blend in flour. Stir in broccoli mixture, half & half, salt, basil, and pepper. Heat slowly just to boiling. Simmer 1 minute, stirring. Top each serving with a sprinkling of sliced almonds.
